Con questa 5a Tappa doveva cominciare l�assestamento del Giroscacchi, ma solo Spadoni si trova ad aver partecipato a tutte le tappe facendo almeno un punto in ognuna per cui, dovendo rientrare nei "38 avversari" deve rinunciare ad un punto (la prossima volta anche ad un torneo).
Vincendo anche questa tappa (grazie anche ai risultati di Babic con Facchetti e Domenighini) dall�alto delle sue 4 tappe valide, con 26 punti su 31, Horobet continua a tenere la maglia rosa, ma sente sul collo il fiato di Facchetti e Domenighini che lo stanno tallonando.
